From September 25 to 27, FAET representatives—Deputy Dean Alla Pinchuk and Head of the ERMIT Department Maksym Zaliskyi—attended IT Arena 2026 in Lviv, one of the largest tech events in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
This year’s summit went far beyond traditional IT. The conference focused primarily on:
Among many presentations, particular attention was drawn to the keynote by Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, who announced a large-scale initiative called the "Army of Robots." The project aims at the mass deployment and scaling of robotic platforms for battlefield tasks, helping to minimize risks to service members' lives.
Partnership Development and Educational Trends Active networking was an essential component of the faculty’s participation in the conference. Alla Pinchuk and Maksym Zaliskyi held a series of meetings with potential partners and tech business representatives, presenting FAET's key focus areas and scientific developments. Today, tech businesses increasingly recognize the need for direct cooperation with higher education institutions to train highly qualified engineering personnel.
Additionally, as part of the event, a closed Lviv IT Cluster meetup took place, where FAET representatives, together with colleagues from the academic community, discussed current challenges in engineering education and new approaches to curriculum development.
Participating in IT Arena 2026 made it possible to align the faculty's development strategy with the real needs of the tech industry. We return to work with new contacts, ideas, and joint projects to advance FAET!
